Staff Selection Commission Exams (SSC)

The Staff Selection Commission Exams, or SSC Exams, are held to fill a variety of positions in the ministries, departments, and organizations within the Indian government.

  • SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level).
  • SSC GD: (Constable, General Duty.)
  • SSC CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level).
  • SSC JE: Junior Engineer.
  • SSC CPO: Central Police Organization.
  • SSC MTS: Multitasking Staff.
  • SSC JHT: Junior Hindi Translator.
  • SSC Stenographers ā€˜cā€™ and ā€˜Dā€™

SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level)

Every year, the SSC CGL exam is held to select candidates for various Group B and Group C positions. Candidates from any college or university may apply for the SSC CGL Exam, but they must have studied mathematics, statistics, and economics.

SSC CGL tier I

It's an online test with multiple choice questions. There are 100 questions altogether in four sections. Tier 1 takes sixty minutes to complete. There are four sections on the SSC CGL Tier I syllabus:

  1. General Awareness
  2. General Intelligence and Reasoning
  3. Quantitative Aptitude and
  4. English Comprehension Skills.

SSC CGL Tier II

Tier II of the SSC CGL will have four papers.

There will be 200 marks available, with two hours allocated for each section.

  1. Quantitative aptitude (0.50 is the negative grade for an incorrect answer).
  2. English Language and Comprehension (wrong answer = negative mark of 0.25)
  3. Statistics (wrong answer = negative mark of 0.50)
  4. General Studies: Economics and Finance (Wrong answer receives a negative mark of 0.50)

SSC CGLTier III

The tier 3 exam lasts for sixty minutes. Using pen and paper to write essays and letters, the exam assesses vocabulary, grammar, writing abilities, and language competency.

SSC CGLTier IV

This Tier IV part includes the SSC CGL TIER IV Data Entry Speed Test and Computer Proficiency Test. Certain government positions need passing this skill test.

SSC JE

SSC holds JE exams annually in a number of fields, including contracts, quality surveying, electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering. For candidates to take this exam, they must hold a degree or diploma in civil, electrical, mechanical, or a similar subject from an accredited university.

SSC JE SYLLABUS

Paper 1 is a multiple-choice exam. There are 200 questions total, starting with

  1. General Awareness (50 marks).
  2. Reasoning and General Intelligence (50 marks)
  3. General Engineering (100 marks)

Candidates have two hours to finish all three of these sections.

Paper 2 consists of 300-mark descriptive questions that must be completed in two hours. It is done using a pen and paper approach.

SSC MTS

The full form of SSC MTS is Staff Selection Commission Multi-Tasking Staff. In order to fill Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) positions for General Central Service Group "C" Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial positions in various Central Government Ministries, Departments, and Offices in various States and Union Territories, qualified applicants must take the SSC MTS exam.

Candidates who passed their class 10th exam may take this one.

Tier 1: Computer-Based Examination

Session 1
  1. Numerical and Mathematical Ability
  2. Reasoning Ability and Problem Solving

This session consists of 20 questions for 60 marks each, for a total of 120 marks. Candidates have 45 minutes to complete it.

Session 2
  1. General Awareness
  2. English Language and Comprehension

This session consists of 25 questions per segment for 75 marks, for a total of 150 marks. Candidates have 45 minutes to complete the questions.
