TOEFL

TOEFL stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language. The TOEFL test consists of 4 sections: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. Each section is scored from 0 to 30, and the total score ranges from 0 to 120. It acts as the springboard for admission into academic programs in more than 150 countries including the United States, Canada, the UK, Australia, and more..

Work out for Listening

Is listening the same as hearing? No, it is not. Listening forms the essential basis for any applicant before speaking or answering, ensuring an appropriate response. The section assesses one’s listening skills through four audio recordings by native English speakers. In IELTS, the section carries 40 marks with a time stipulation of approximately 30 minutes. The TOEFL test deals the same with 36 minutes for 28 questions.

Dainey ensures the enhancement of listening in every applicant through constant listening practices and mock-tests, helping to attain comprehension of the native speakers.

Work out for Speaking

Is speaking the mere utterance of words? No, it is not. Speaking plays a significant role in expressing one's ideas, opinions and emotions. This makes it a fundamental key in communication. IELTS speaking tests cover a broad range of subjects, such as employment, society, education, current events, and personal experiences, while TOEFL speaking tests cover general topics, especially education and everyday campus-life.

In IELTS, this could take 11 to 14 minutes in three sections. In these sections, a band score between 6 and 6.5 is considered ideal enough. On the other hand, TOEFL evaluates the applicant’s fluency, grammar, pronunciation, and spontaneity in about 17 minutes. On the basis of these criteria, the applicants are categorized as Advanced (25–30), High-intermediate (20–24), Low-intermediate (16–19), and Basic (10–15).

We utilize numerous strategies, cutting-edge technology, and proficient trainees to transform applicants into confident English speakers

Work out for Reading

Does reading end with reading? No, it doesn’t. Reading extends beyond mere reading of the words to include comprehension, analytical skill and responsiveness. Thus, Reading is a fundamental lingual skill that empowers the learner to gain knowledge and apply it efficiently in real-time tasks. The skill is well-assessed by IELTS and TOEFL. IELTS requires the applicant to read three passages and answer 40 questions within an hour. TOEFL’s reading section consists of two passages and 20 questions, and is to be completed in 35 minutes.

Examples of such reading tests include short-answer questions, heading and sentence ending matching, identifying information, and completion activities like sentence, summary, note, table, and flowchart completions. The very ability to comprehend and respond to the questions is remarkable honed at Dainey.

Work out For Writing

Is writing just a skill? No, it is not. Writing is a power—a force that gives life to ideas. It is a medium of communication that has the potential to effectively pass one’s ideas, and thoughts.

In IELTS, the skill is evaluated via 2 sections, where the first deals with the elaboration of visual information in 150 words, and the second deals with the elaboration of a topic or argument 250 words. This evaluation takes 60 minutes. In TOEFL, the test takes 2 sections as well, in which the first (integrated task) takes 20 minutes, and the second (independent task) takes 30 minutes respectively. The first task should be of 300 words, and the second should be of 380-400 words. The topics may deal with education, technology, work, society, etc.

At Dainey, we equip the applicants to write effectively with precise grammar, and clear sentence formation. This is performed with the help of skilful mentors, vocabulary building, and regular practice.
